Mr. Sciacca is a recognized authority on utility automation and Smart Grid technologies, and has been a speaker/advisor in these topics for over 25 years. From a strong technical background in utility automation, Mr. Sciacca went on to form Automation Technologies and Services, LLC. As CEO of ATS, he led the growth and strategic direction of the company, and planned both merger and acquisition activities of the company and its successors in the Smart Grid market space.
Mr. Sciacca also brings a global perspective to utility automation and Smart Grid efforts, and has spoken at international conferences and gatherings including Latin Smart Grid Forum, Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, European Patent Office, and the Association Française de Normalisation.
In addition to his role as USNC Council Member, Mr. Sciacca is active in several IEEE standards in the utility market space, including serving as chair of IEEE-1686, IEEE PC37.240, and IEEE-2030, the first comprehensive guideline for Smart Grid System Interoperability. He is a graduate of Clarkson University in Power Engineering and a registered Professional Engineer.
